The problem: Limited time for hiring
As a growing startup, Prism recognized the importance of delegating tasks. Instead of dedicating resources to recruitment, the team opted to partner with a hiring service.

Prism was looking for developers skilled in Laravel, its back-end PHP framework, and Angular, its front-end framework. In addition to technical expertise, the company wanted individuals who would feel like integral team members, bringing a strong sense of ownership to their work, according to Luke Zilioli, Lead Engineer at Prism.

"Before working with Howdy, we had hired people who felt more like contractors," Zilioli shared. "They were a little less inclined to integrate themselves with the team and make suggestions."
The Howdy solution: A comprehensive approach
Prism was attracted to Howdy’s unique approach to staffing, which balances company needs with LatAm professionals seeking meaningful roles.

"We liked the idea of being able to explain what we needed," said Zilioli. "Howdy would source candidates that not only fit the role but also fit the brand's personality."
Thanks to Howdy, Prism was able to successfully hire two back-end and four front-end engineers, fully integrating them into the team.

"With Howdy, we treated the new hires like full-time employees," Zilioli explained. "We onboarded them the same way we would local, salaried employees."
The results: Key contributors to the team
Two years later, the Howdy engineers continue to excel, becoming vital members of the team.
"Howdy hires jumped in and helped us with a ton of projects," Zilioli stated. "They've contributed a lot and become instrumental to the team."

The engineers have a solid understanding of their codebase and take responsibility for their tasks, participating actively in team discussions.

"They contribute to the conversation and ask questions," Zilioli noted.

The devs engage in team meetings, remote social events, and even traveled to Austin for a company summit. "It’s been great to see how they’ve integrated with the team and exactly what I wanted," he added.

Prism also values the ongoing support Howdy provides, both to the company and the engineers themselves.
"We enjoy the regular check-ins we have with Howdy," said Zilioli. "We appreciate that the engineers have support from a Howdy mentor. What Howdy does makes a lot of sense for both parties."
The collaboration has been just as rewarding for Howdy engineers, who feel valued and supported by OJO.
"I was continually acknowledged, encouraged and recognized, which boosted my confidence in my ability to make things happen," said Pablo A., Senior Software Developer at Howdy. "The exceptional leadership of Qingqing was one of the standout parts of my time there. Her support and encouragement were crucial for my personal and professional growth."
