Role Summary

This role focuses on transforming fragmented, analyst-driven data workflows into scalable, maintainable Python ETL pipelines. You will refactor exploratory processes into reliable software systems with strong validation, automation, testing, and observability.

Desired Skills:

  • B2 and above English level
  • 5 + years of professional experience as a Data Engineer
  • 5+ years of professional Python experience
  • 5+ years of experience building and automating ETL data pipelines
  • Strong SQL and relational database experience, particularly PostgreSQL
  • Experience transforming Jupyter notebooks and exploratory workflows into reusable software
  • Strong experience with data cleaning, validation, normalization, and semi-structured data

Nice to Have:

  • Django, FastAPI, Docker, Pandas, DuckDB, dbt, Elasticsearch
  • Classification, NLP, entity resolution, or fuzzy matching
  • Internal tooling, monitoring, or workflow automation

Responsibilities

  • Refactor fragmented data ingestion workflows into modular, maintainable Python ETL pipelines.
  • Build automated data cleaning, validation, normalization, and edge-case handling systems.
  • Design reliable ingestion workflows for messy and semi-structured customer datasets.
  • Develop automated QA/QC tooling to improve data quality and pipeline reliability.
  • Implement observability and telemetry to monitor ingestion drops and validation failures.
  • Collaborate with domain researchers and infrastructure teams to translate business logic into robust software systems.
  • improve pipeline scalability, maintainability, reusability, and test coverage.

  • Highly autonomous engineer comfortable working with ambiguous and unstandardized data.
  • Strong problem solver with a systematic approach to diagnosing data anomalies and pipeline failures.
  • Passionate about clean, maintainable, well-tested, and well-documented code.
  • Strong cross-functional communicator who can translate domain knowledge into engineering solutions.
  • Engineering-first mindset focused on productionization, refactoring, and reusable systems.
