Role Summary

We're looking for a Founding Applied Scientist to lead the mathematical and scientific foundations of the core asset discovery platform. In this role, you'll take technical ownership of acquiring, processing, and combining complex geoscientific datasets, building foundational systems from scratch.

Desired Skills

  • English B2 or above.
  • 4+ years of experience in geophysics, computational physics, or a related scientific field.
  • Master's or PhD in Geophysics, Applied Physics, Computational Physics, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related field.
  • Strong hands-on experience with exploration geophysics and geophysical inversion techniques.
  • Expert programming skills in Python and scientific computing libraries such as NumPy, SciPy, and Pandas.
  • Experience working with heterogeneous, sparse, and complex geological or remote sensing datasets.
  • Experience with 2D/3D inversion engines, seismic data formats, electromagnetic data tooling, and Git.
  • Nice to have: Machine learning experience and claobrating closely with ML researchers 

Responsibilities

  • Own the acquisition, processing, and integration of complex geoscientific datasets.
  • Develop and maintain 2D and 3D subsurface inversion modeling workflows.
  • Process seismic, electromagnetic, gravity anomaly, and geological data to generate high-quality subsurface models.
  • Build scientific software and production-ready code to support exploration workflows.
  • Collaborate closely with ML infrastructure engineers on technical initiatives.
  • Take full ownership of technical solutions, delivering high-quality results with minimal oversight.
  • Participate in asynchronous collaboration through Slack and daily standups.
