Summary of the Role

We are looking for a Senior Automation & AI Engineer to serve as the lead technical owner for our internal practice automation stack. Sitting at the intersection of Operations, Data Engineering, and AI, you will map, architect, and build production-grade automated workflows to eliminate operational bottlenecks. You will connect core practice tools including NetSuite, Google Workspace/Business APIs, and Open Dental EHRvia secure Python scripts, SQL pipelines, and encrypted API protocols, while integrating cloud-hosted LLMs (Claude, GPT-4) to power internal workflows under strict HIPAA compliance standards.

Desired Skills

  • English Proficiency: B2 English level or above (strong verbal and written communication).
  • Availability: Full-time availability.
  • Automation Experience: 4+ years of professional experience in automation engineering or similar roles.
  • Python & SQL: 4+ years of advanced hands-on experience using Python and SQL for backend data transformation, pipeline creation, and system integrations.
  • AI & LLM Tooling: Practical experience building production-grade workflows utilizing cloud-hosted AI APIs (Claude / Anthropic, GPT / OpenAI).
  • Enterprise & Cloud Systems: Deep hands-on experience integrating with NetSuite Accounting APIs, Google Business/Workspace APIs, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Healthcare / EHR Systems: Direct experience or strong technical familiarity integrating with Open Dental EHR or similar electronic health record databases.
  • Security & HIPAA Compliance: Deep operational command over HIPAA regulations, secure PII/PHI handling, zero-trust practices, and data encryption protocols (TLS/SSL, AES-256) both at rest and in transit.

Responsibilities

  • Internal Stack Integration: Design, deploy, and maintain automated pipelines connecting Google Business/Workspace, NetSuite, and Open Dental EHR systems.
  • AI & Agent Workflows: Build and deploy AI automations (leveraging Claude and GPT APIs) to process internal data, execute operational tasks, and generate actionable practice insights.
  • Operations Collaboration: Partner closely with internal Operations teams to shadow manual workflows, identify automation opportunities, and translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Data Engineering & Encryption: Write performant SQL and Python scripts to transform, sync, and audit operational data safely across multi-system environments.
  • Security & Compliance Standards: Ensure all integrations, API payloads, and database layers adhere strictly to HIPAA compliance and medical data encryption standards.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Direct experience with Open Dental EHR or dental/medical practice management software.
  • Proven track record of building automated financial or inventory reconciliation pipelines in NetSuite.
  • Experience with GCP serverless architecture (Cloud Functions, Cloud Run, Pub/Sub).
