Summary of the Role

We are looking for a Software Engineer I to join the Pro Product team, building solutions that enable credentialed tax professionals to prepare, sign, and file customer returns. You will work primarily across C#, ASP.NET Core, Angular, and SQL Server. You will leverage AI-assisted development tools like Cursor and Claude Code as a standard part of daily engineering to accelerate delivery while maintaining high standards for code quality, security, and maintainability.

Desired Skills

  • +2 years of professional experience as a FullStack Developer.
  • +2 years of professional experience developing web applications using C# / .NET, ASP.NET Core, Web APIs, Angular, and SQL Server.
  • AI-Assisted Development: Proficiency or comfort using modern AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) to write, refactor, and maintain high-quality code efficiently.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft development tools and workflows, including Visual Studio, SQL Server, and Azure DevOps.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, version control (Git), relational database design, and RESTful API principles.

Responsibilities

  • Full-Stack Development: Build and maintain web application features and API endpoints using C#, ASP.NET Core, Angular, and SQL Server for professional tax software.
  • AI-Powered Workflows: Integrate AI-assisted coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code) into daily development tasks to streamline refactoring, testing, and feature delivery.
  • Database & API Operations: Write efficient SQL queries, manage database interactions, and implement secure REST APIs to process complex tax preparation data.
  • Quality & Collaboration: Participate in peer code reviews, write unit/integration tests, navigate version control via Git, and partner with senior engineers to own end-to-end features.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Hands-on experience or project portfolio featuring AWS or cloud-hosted infrastructure.
  • Previous internship or professional experience in fintech, tax software, or heavily regulated domains.
  • Active open-source contributions or personal projects demonstrating AI-first coding practices.
