Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay, Brazil

Summary of the Role

We are looking for a SQL Server Production DBA to own the health, security, availability and performance of production, QA and development SQL Server environments that power business-critical operations and feed downstream analytics platforms such as Snowflake and Power BI. This is a critical hands-on role: you will drive proactive monitoring, troubleshoot ETL and stored procedure incidents, optimize execution plans, manage backup/restore operations and environment refreshes, enforce strict security and access controls, and partner with Data Engineering and Platform teams on cross-platform integrations (CDC, Azure Data Factory and Azure DevOps deployments).

Desired Skills

  • Full-Time availability
  • Advanced English (C1) or above
  • 5+ years of experience running production SQL Server (2016 or newer) environments at scale
  • Deep knowledge of SQL Server internals: query optimizer behavior, execution plans, indexing strategies, locking/blocking, tempdb configuration and memory management
  • Practical experience with point-in-time restores, transaction log chains, disaster recovery and staging/QA environment refreshes
  • High proficiency writing and tuning complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views and functions using DMVs and Extended Events
  • Experience implementing logins, roles, schemas and row-level security, and participating in recurring production access audits
  • Hands-on experience with SQL Server Agent jobs, maintenance plans and CI/CD database deployment workflows (Azure DevOps / Octopus Deploy)

Responsibilities

  • Maintain high availability, performance and reliability across SQL Server 2016+ production, QA and development environments
  • Monitor CPU, memory, disk I/O, deadlocks and long-running queries using DMVs and Extended Events, and lead root-cause analysis for production incidents and ETL pipeline failures
  • Analyze execution plans, optimize stored procedures and views, and design indexing strategies to reduce query runtimes and improve throughput
  • Manage full, differential and transaction log backup strategies, execute point-in-time restores and perform periodic Dev/QA refreshes from production copies
  • Enforce role-based access control, row-level security and schema management, and support recurring production access audits
  • Support automated database object deployments via Azure DevOps pipelines and coordinate CDC / Azure Data Factory data flows between SQL Server and Snowflake

Nice-to-Haves

  • Familiarity with Snowflake data warehouse integration and CDC pipelines
  • Experience with SQL Server Always On Availability Groups
  • Exposure to PostgreSQL database administration
  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or MCSA: SQL Server
  • Experience with Power BI

Who You Are

  • You stay calm and methodical under pressure during critical production outages and incident response
  • You have a proactive, preventive mindset: you fix performance regressions and memory/storage bottlenecks before they impact the business
  • You communicate clearly and coordinate effectively with data engineering, analytics and leadership teams during planned changes and incidents

Some benefits:

  • 🏢 Offices in some cities
  • 🖥️ 100% remote work
  • ⌚ Full-time schedule, flexible according to objectives
  • 🏖️ PTO & holidays
  • ⚕️ Medical insurance
