Role Summary

We're looking for a Technical Accounting Automation Engineer to bridge accounting operations and software engineering. In this role, you'll build automation, validation frameworks, and integrations that ensure AI-powered financial workflows are accurate, reliable, and scalable.

Desired Skills

  • English B2 or above.
  • 4+ years of experience in accounting automation, ERP implementations, financial systems, or software engineering with strong accounting domain knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of accounting operations, including general ledgers, reconciliations, invoicing, bookkeeping, and financial closing processes.
  • Hands-on programming experience with Python and advanced SQL for data transformation, automation, and financial data processing.
  • Experience building REST API integrations, webhooks, and data import/export pipelines.
  • Solid experience working with ERP and accounting platforms such as Odoo (self-hosted preferred), QuickBooks Online, or QuickBooks Desktop/Enterprise.
  • Advanced Excel and/or Google Sheets automation skills.
  • Experience building data validation frameworks and implementing reliable audit and exception-handling processes.
  • Strong understanding of AI/LLM tools and their practical use for extracting structured financial data while defining safe validation boundaries.
  • Nice to have:
    • Experience developing custom modules within self-hosted Odoo environments.
    • Experience building internal finance tooling, automated tax calculation systems, or accounts receivable reconciliation solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build automation solutions for accounting and finance workflows.
  • Develop Python scripts, SQL routines, and data pipelines to automate financial operations.
  • Build deterministic validation layers and exception-handling frameworks for AI-generated financial outputs.
  • Process, clean, transform, and reconcile complex financial datasets from multiple sources.
  • Develop and maintain integrations between ERP platforms, accounting software, and third-party systems using APIs and webhooks.
  • Ensure financial data accuracy through robust validation, audit trails, and single-source-of-truth architectures.
  • Work autonomously to solve ambiguous technical and operational challenges in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to improve financial automation systems.
