Engineer Manager (Guadalajara - MX)
The Engineering Manager / Mentor is a seasoned professional with experience in managerial or leadership positions within technology companies or technology teams.
The ideal candidate should possess a proven track record in successfully delivering projects and expanding engineering teams, ideally within startups.
We are seeking for individuals who excel as a team players and possess expertise in team building with a strong emphasis on collaboration, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of motivating and inspiring others.
Desired Experience:
- Prior experience in a managerial or leadership role in technology companies or teams.
- Record of successful project delivery.
- Familiarity with the technology start-up scene.
- Experience in scaling and growing engineering teams.
- Prior experience motivating and inspiring others.
- Proactive, hands-on attitude.
- Solution-oriented mindset/decision-making skills
- Experience in conflict resolution
Responsibilities:
- Conduct 1:1 meetings and attend partner(clients) meetings.
- Develop trust with engineers and partners to detect risk early.
- Manage partner accounts, building long term relationships and trust.
- Gather partner insights about challenges, pain points and strategy that can be leveraged in supporting the engineer's strategy, and in building a strong partnership.
- Detect churn potential early and mitigate damage to the business.
- Guide and support the developers through day-to-day challenges.
- Mentor the engineers in their career progression.
- Monitor engineer/partner satisfaction.
- Conduct interviews and asses potential candidates.
- Participate in defining and implementing the strategy for the engineering department.
- Contribute in improving internal processes to drive the expected results in the areas of responsibility of the engineering department.
- Influence colleagues to achieve the highest standards.
Skills:
- B2 and above English level
- Strong interpersonal, mentoring and communication skills
- Project management techniques & Agile methodologies knowledge
- Solid understanding of engineering principles and practices.
- Familiarity with industry-standard tools and technologies.
- In-depth technical knowledge of every aspect of the engineering process.
