Sr. Web Designer
About the Role
We’re looking for a Web Designer who can design, code, and perfect exceptional web experiences.
You’ll be part of the Howdy.com Team, responsible for our main marketing and product website — the public face of our brand.
Your mission: help make Howdy.com a top-tier website in the market, admired for its world-class design, flawless execution, and technical excellence. This role blends design and development. We’re not looking for someone who only works in Figma. We want someone who knows how to bring those designs to life in code. You should understand how the browser behaves, how layouts break, and how every pixel renders across different devices.
You’ll work closely with our Head of Design and their team of graphic designers, as well as front-end and back-end engineers, to build a site that’s visually stunning, fast, and scalable.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build beautiful, responsive web pages and components for Howdy.com.
- Write clean, maintainable HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to implement your designs.
- Work side by side with engineers to ensure pixel-perfect implementation and performance optimization.
- Use browser developer tools to inspect, tweak, and perfect layouts across all breakpoints.
- Translate design direction and brand evolution from our Head of Design into cohesive, production-ready web experiences.
- Maintain a design system that ensures consistency across all Howdy digital properties.
- Continuously test, refine, and improve pages based on usability and performance data.
Main Skills and Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience designing and coding modern websites.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating hands-on web design and front-end development.
- Deep knowledge of HTML, CSS, and responsive design principles.
- Working understanding of JavaScript (and ideally React or modern frameworks).
- Mastery of browser developer tools and responsive debugging.
- Meticulous attention to detail — you care about every pixel, hover state, and animation.
- Ability to work collaboratively with designers, developers, and product managers.
